Openbank, the 100% digital bank of the Santander Group, and Mutua Madrid Open have announced the renewal of their sponsorship agreement for the next three seasons. This reaffirms the bank’s 2021 commitment to the Madrid tournament, which is to hold its 21st edition this year.
Over twelve days from 24 April to 7 May, renowned professional tennis players, including Rafa Nadal, Carlos Alcaraz and Paula Badosa, will compete at the Caja Mágica in what is set to be one of the biggest sports and cultural events of the year.
The clay-court tournament will again host the men’s ATP Masters 1000 and the women’s WTA 1000. Fans of the world’s best tennis will enjoy first-class matches on the Caja Mágica’s eight courts.
Gerard Tsobanian, CEO and President of the Mutua Madrid Open said: “We are thrilled and delighted to extend the relationship between the Mutua Madrid Open and Openbank. We will continue on this adventure, sharing values like effort and the pursuit of excellence, while enjoying sport and facing future challenges together.”
Patricia Benito, General Manager of Openbank, said: “We’re delighted to continue forming part of one of the most important events in world tennis. This new agreement strengthens our commitment to the Mutua Madrid Open, which is watched by millions of spectators in the stands and at home because it is such an amazing experience. It inspires both young and old, and connects fans watching at the Caja Mágica and online.”
This year, the bank will be present both on and off court with an exclusive area in which spectators will be able to find out about its savings products. To mark the occasion, Openbank customers can get 5% off their tickets (subject to availability).
