Security Customisation

The protection you deserve

The protection you deserve

You're in charge when it comes to your money. At Openbank, you can customise the level of security required for your transactions and change these settings whenever you want.

Security on a whole other level

By default, you will verify your transactions by SMS codes, but if you want to add an extra layer of security, you can use your signature key, which you will receive when you open an account at Openbank.

How much is "a lot"?

You can also customise the level of security required for your transactions by the amount. For example, use the SMS confirmation code for standard transfers, but add the signature key for larger transfers.

What is the signature key?

It is a combination of 8 digits and letters. It is used to confirm transactions and take out products over the phone. For security reasons, we will never ask for your full signature key, just random characters.

You received your signature key by post when you opened your account. However, if you can't remember your key, you can request it in the Customer Area on the website and app.

What is the signature key?

The signature key, which is made up of 8 alphanumerical characters, allows you to perform transactions and engage services over the phone.

If you choose to customise your security settings, we will ask you for random signature-key characters in addition to the SMS confirmation code. For security reasons, we will never ask you for your full signature key, and you can change it at any time on the website and app.

What is the SMS confirmation code?

This code allows you to carry out transactions and take out products on the website and app.

It is a random, one-time-use code that we'll send you by SMS. This is the default security setting to confirm these transactions.

You must have your mobile phone number updated so that you can receive these confirmation codes; you can edit it on the website and app in your ’Personal Details' section.

What happens if you forget or lose your signature key?

If you forget your signature key, call us on 91 177 33 10 to ask for a new one. You will receive it by post within a few days.

Which transactions can you customise your security settings for?

You can individually customise your settings for transfers, product purchases, account and direct debit transactions, cards, loans and investments.

If you prefer, you can apply the same custom security settings to all your transactions in a single click.

How do you customise your security settings by amount?

When you are in the Customer Area, go to the 'Security and Passcodes' section of your profile to customise your security settings.

For transfers, you can set a minimum amount from which we will ask for the SMS confirmation code and your signature key.
