If the prize amount is less than €300, it will constitute a capital gain in cash subject to taxation according to current tax regulations. Winners must declare the value of the prize received in the general tax base of their personal income tax return.
If the prize amount is equal to or greater than €300, it will constitute a capital gain in cash subject to withholding tax, currently at a rate of 19%, which will be applied by Openbank in accordance with applicable tax regulations. This withholding tax will not affect customers. Winning customers must declare the value of the prize received plus the withholding not passed on in the general tax base of their personal income tax (IRPF) return.
